[Music]. Textile products have become an essential part of our daily lives. Their functionality is mainly determined by the material they are made of: fibers. Historically, cotton, flax, linen and hemp were the most commonly used fibers. These fibers all have one thing in common: they all consist of cellulose. Cellulose is the organic compound most frequently found in nature, as it is the principal component of wood. More than 100 years ago, engineers found a way to extract the cellulose from wood and form it into a new kind of fiber known as viscose. Guilhom fibers leads the world with its capability of modifying the properties of viscose fibers to generate various functionalities for a broad range of applications. The raw material for viscose is wood pulp. To guarantee that the wood comes only from sustainably managed plantations, only pulp with FSC or PFC certification is used by keel hime fibers. In order to produce tailor-made fibers, the wood pulp has to be dissolved first. Since cellulose itself does not dissolve in water, it needs to be modified in a first process step. The Show more
modified cellulose can now be dissolved and forms an orange honey like liquid. This liquid is pressed through an extrusion head into a bath of dilute acid. As it comes into contact with the acid, the dissolved cellulose regenerates and forms of fiber. At this point, key modifications, such as changing the shape and size of the cross-section or incorporating additives, can be made [Music], [Music], [Music], [Music]. Show more
Our certified internal laboratories ensure that customer specifications and the highest requirements for product safety and hygiene are fulfilled. [Music]. From kill hime in Germany, the fibers start their journey to customers all around the world. Every day about 25 trucks leave our plant. Environmental protection is a key priority for us. Our natural gas-fired power plant reaches an efficiency of more than 90%- twice as much as conventional power plants. Closed process loops minimize the impact on the environment. The additional efficiency secures our competitive position in the high-cost country. State-of-the-art bio reactors are used to treat the wastewater. Their capacity is sufficient for a city with 150,000 residents. Speciality fibers from Keele Heim are used. The various applications, the purity and high absorption capability make our hygiene fibers the an ideal choice for products like tampons and medical textiles. Our short cut fibers are used for cosmetic products and even for fully flushable wet wipes which have no negative impact on wastewater systems. Our skincare fibers improve the moisture management, transparency and skin fitt of sheet masks by adding our fibers to food filtration papers, the porosity can be controlled to achieve optimized extraction in tea bags and coffee paths.
